I'm just waiting for my blinds to be delivered and then my kitchen is done....yep, done, finished....no more dust!!!
So here's a bigger sneaky peek...a before and after. We love it....no, we more than love it, we really, really love it. It fits us as a family, it's us to a tee, it's just perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.
And do you know what....it cost £4k less than the middle quote we had for labour alone. It's been ruddy hard work but I'm so pleased to say I had a go at every single part of it. I've laid the floor, I've plastered the walls, I've painted everything, I've waxed all the wood, I've varnished the floor, I've had splinters where you don't want them and at every stage I've been able to tweak things to be the way I wanted. My Dad has been fab, he was a master carpenter before he retired and he stepped in and showed me how to do the wiring, he made me use power tools that scared the bejesus out of me and he's praised my work. He's a star! (and don't forget Mum who did my ironing, walked around with a damp cloth cleaning things and kept my garden tidy whilst I was to busy to)
So here it is....well part of it

Your kitchen looks fabby. Well done on all the hard work, I can see why you all love it. A well desereved big pat on the back.
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous and I know how much work has gone into it so be proud of all that you did yourself hugs Ginny
ReplyDeleteWow it looks lovely xx
ReplyDeleteThink that should be "Pooks Palace" - so proud of your rolling up your sleeves and having a go. Funny but once you get a few DIY skills under your belt you are less likely to be taken in with the next quote that involves a suck of the teeth and the "It's gunna cost ya Missus!!!"
ReplyDeleteNow I am craving pale green paint to replace my bubblegum pink..................grr!!! :-)
Looking good! You must be so pleased and relieved! x
