I have a gingham fetish...there, I've said it.
I'd swathe the whole house in it if I could but I think I'd end up a divorcee before the final hem was sewn....I have however been able to sneak the odd bit in over time....am I pushing my luck trying for a bit more??? Nahh....he likes it!
The kitchen was one we've inherited and it's fairly new and does everything a kitchen should...aside from look "pretty" (it's highly functional with everything being tiles and wipeable). I've been wondering what to do at the window for ages. It's not overlooked and therefore didn't technically need anything but in the winter and at night the dark flat void of the window is cold and empty.
So when in doubt....gingham!
A local shop had reduced some lovely cherry red table cloths down to £3 each but they were to short for what I needed.....never fear, I raided my fabric stash and found some smaller check for contrast.
I've added the buttons to try and tie the black tiles in with the curtains a bit and found a white pole lurking in the shed....suction hooks save me drilling into the tiles and as the curtains are light they're more than adequate for the job!
But with every good pair of curtains comes the need for a new door stop....
He was quick and simple to make and just adds another splash of colour to the room.
Ooooooooh they are absolutely gorgeous and I love the chicken because I have one I've made too! xx

ReplyDeleteCurtains are fab, so nice that you added the extra in the curtain rather that just adding it straight to the bottom. Lovely!
